birth doula support

a steady presence through pregnancy, birth, and the decisions in between.

Being invited to walk alongside you and support you on this journey is a true honour, and one I treat with great care.

My approach to birth support is grounded in trust, continuity, and a steady presence. When you work with me, I become a full time member of your team, walking alongside you as you navigate pregnancy, birth, and beyond. We build a trusting relationship, so that as questions, decisions, and emotions arise, you feel supported by someone who knows you and your circumstances.

How I approach birth support

During pregnancy:

A central part of my support during pregnancy is helping you to navigate maternity care in a way that keeps you at the centre.

I support you to:

  • understand recommendations as they arise,

  • make sense of what they mean for your pregnancy, and

  • ask the questions that help you feel clear and confident.

I signpost you to reliable evidence based information (without overwhelm) helping to bring balance, so decisions can be made using clinical information, your values, preferences, and instincts together.

As the end of your pregnancy approaches, I remain alongside you as a constant source of reassurance and guidance.

During labour and birth:

I go “on call” for you 10 days before your estimated due date and remain on call until 2 weeks afterwards, so there is no pressure around when your baby arrives (from me at least).

When labour begins, or if I am supporting you through an induction of labour or planned caesarean, my support is guided by you and your individual needs. Drawing on my experience, I offer:

  • emotional reassurance for you and your partner,

  • practical support with comfort measures and beneficial labouring positions, and

  • advocacy alongside your caregivers when needed - always with the aim of protecting your space and helping your care reflect your wishes.

Immediately after birth, I remain by your side to protect your space and promote bonding and initiation of feeding. My aim is always to ensure you feel cared for and steady as you land back on planet earth - a mother!

Post birth:

Regardless if you are seeking more ongoing postnatal support, I always offer a minimum of one visit post birth to create a safe, supportive space to gently process your experience. I truly believe, that this reflection is an important part of moving into parenthood feeling grounded, heard and supported.

working together

My support is designed to adapt to you and your journey and it is always impartial and unwavering.

If you feel that my continuous support and guidance could be beneficial, I would warmly welcome the opportunity to hear about what’s currently coming up for you in pregnancy, how you envisage doula support working for you and how I can help.

BOOK YOUR CALL

Tailored support:

Every family’s needs are different, and my birth doula support is always tailored to reflect that. There is no one-size-fits-all approach - your pregnancy, your circumstances, and your preferences shape how we work together.

The best way to explore what would feel most helpful for you is to BOOK A CALL so we can talk things through.

For guidance, support often includes a combination of antenatal preparation, on-call availability around your estimated due date, and continuous support during labour and birth. Some families benefit from additional antenatal sessions (especially if this is your first baby) to on focus on complete birth education and preparation, navigating maternity care, decision making, or preparing for specific circumstances, while others choose to add postnatal reflections or early postpartum support.
