1:1 birth preparation

I offer personalised, 1:1 birth preparation for families who want to feel informed, confident, and supported as they prepare for birth and navigate maternity care.

My approach goes beyond traditional hypnobirthing or birth education. Together, we prepare for the realities of the system you’re navigating - including appointments, recommendations, and decision points - whilst also supporting your physical, emotional and mental preparation for birth.

This work is tailored entirely to you, your circumstances, and what’s coming up in your pregnancy right now.

What 1:1 Birth preparation focusses on

1:1 birth preparation with me, is about more than learning techniques or hoping for a particular type of birth. It’s about helping you feel informed, grounded, and confident as you prepare for birth within the realities of the maternity system you’re navigating - and for whatever may come up along the way.

This support can be offered as a one-off session or a more in-depth 1:1 course, depending on what you need.

Our work together can focus on:

  • Physical, emotional, and mental preparation for labour and birth, drawing on hypnobirthing principles and practical comfort tools.

  • Understanding how birth works, including what’s “normal” and how different birth scenarios can unfold.

  • Making sense of maternity care as it relates to your birth, so you can prepare for a birth that reflects your values while feeling ready for the realities of the system you’re birthing within.

This work isn’t about aiming for a “perfect” birth - it’s about understanding how to actually make birth positive whatever form it takes.

how 1:1 birth preparation can work

Some families come to me with specific questions or decisions they want support with. Others want more time and space to prepare in-depth for birth. Both options are flexible and shaped around your needs.

1:1 Birth Preparation session

A dedicated 60 minute, online session focussed on what’s coming up for you right now in pregnancy or birth preparation.

This session is designed for moments where you want clarity, context, and support to think things through - whether that’s an upcoming appointment, a recommendation you’re unsure about, or a decision that feels heavy.

For example, we might explore:

  • navigating your “out of guidelines” care

  • an induction of labour or planned caesarean that’s been suggested and what your options are

  • how to prepare practically for a home birth

  • an upcoming consultant appointment and how to stay calm while getting the information you need

  • any other situation where you want to make sense of your choices within maternity care

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your options and a plan for how to move forward with confidence.

1:1 Birth Preparation Course

Comprehensive birth preparation course led by an experienced doula working alongside the maternity care system every day.

This package is designed to prepare you physically, psychologically, and practically for birth, whilst also helping you understand how the maternity care system works, so you can navigate it with clarity and confidence and prepare to birth within it.

Together we’ll cover:

  • the different birth scenarios and how they’re typically managed

  • tools for comfort, coping, staying grounded during labour

  • decision-making frameworks and advocacy skills for navigating care

  • space to explore your preferences as they evolve

Alongside our sessions, you’ll also have Whatsapp virtual doula support throughout pregnancy - a way to ask questions, sense-check information, and get support between sessions as things come up.

This is ongoing, personalised preparation and support - shaped around you and your circumstances.

this support is right for you if:

  • You want to feel more confident and prepared for birth, not just informed.

  • You’re looking for personalised support, rather than a one-size-fits-all course.

  • You want space to talk things through, build confidence, and prepare in a way that suits you.

  • You’d like preparation that supports both the physical and emotional side of birth, alongside the realities of maternity care.

  • You want to feel supported and reassured, whatever stage you’re at in pregnancy and whatever may come up.

If you’re unsure which option would suit you best, a short clarity call can help.
