Hey! I’m Ellie

I am a Hypnobirthing & Antenatal Teacher, a Birth & Postnatal Doula and Birth Trauma Recovery Practitioner. I’m also a trainee breastfeeding counsellor providing breastfeeding/chest feeding and lactation support.

I started Birth Boss following the births of my own children, which I describe as the most positive and empowering experiences of my life!

After the birth of my youngest, I knew I wanted to be able to support other parents and birthing people as they prepare to transition from pregnant to parent and beyond!

It is my firm belief that every birthing person deserves to feel positive about their birth.

Through my own experiences, and observing those of others, I have seen how instrumental our births are to our transition into parenthood.

A positive birth experience is instrumental to the emergence of capable and empowered mothers and parents raising happy and confident children.

hypnobirthing & Antenatal courses

My courses are designed to allow you to approach your birth full of confidence and excitement instead of fear and anxiety.

Why is this important?

Because not only will it allow you to enjoy your pregnancy (free from fear), it also is the best preparation for your birth.

How we experience birth is largely a state of mind. We need to eliminate fear and instil positivity because your mindset has a direct impact on your physical experience.

My courses help you understand how your mind effects your physiology. To improve yours and your baby’s experience.

Offering, online and in-person, group and private courses.

birth & postnatal doula services

A doula is a non-medical support person with specialised knowledge in birth and postnatal matters, who can guide and walk alongside you in your journey to parenthood.

My role as your doula is to help you prepare for the birth and postnatal period you want.

I will provide my impartial, wholehearted and unwavering support to you in the way(s) you feel you need.

I am supportive of all birthing and parenting choices and passionate about being a provider of encouragement, support and care whilst you prepare for your birth or find your feet on the other side!

I will help you recognise your own abilities and empower you to do it your way!

birth trauma recovery services

My goal is to help prepare parents for a positive birth experience, because I understand how important the way we feel about our birth is to parental wellbeing.

It is my aim to prevent a difficult/traumatic birth experience.

However, it is important to acknowledge that positive empowerment is not the reality of birth for all.

I have, therefore, broadened my services to be able to support those who are struggling to come to terms with their birth and work towards a brighter future.

If this applies to you – please know, you don’t have to feel like this forever. I’m here to help!

What’s the ‘antenatal’ bit?

This is practical lessons on the physiology of birth: what is happening inside my body? What happens during labour and birth? What does it feel like? etc.

It is also the process of understanding your choices in labour and the decisions you might be expected to make and the ability to make those decisions confidently.

what’s the ‘hypno’ bit?

This is the exploration of the psychology of birth. It is designed to release fear and build confidence in your birthing ability through the use of simple but effective tools and techniques which help you get from pregnant to parent in the most efficient and comfortable way possible.

What’s a doula?

A doula is essentially a professional birth partner or fairy godmother to you in the postnatal period.

A doula provides informational, emotional, physical and practical support to you and your family on your journey to parenthood and beyond.

Your doula’s role is to walk with you as you encounter the terrain of becoming a parent. Supporting you if you need it and stepping back when you don’t.

Your doula is the person you can turn to with any question, concern or issue and who will help provide you with the support you need to overcome any hurdle. We are here to help you recognise your own power and to celebrate your successes.

You’ve heard the phrase “it takes a village…”, well, as your doula, I can be part of your village - a hand to hold, an ear to listen, a light to guide… all that good stuff!

What Birth Boss Parents Say

“Ellie's advice and wisdom made me feel so much calmer and more confident. The knowledge she gave me was really empowering during a time when so much felt out of my control. She was so patient and kind. I would not hesitate to recommend her.”

- Annie, Warwick

“As my due date approached, Ellie’s advice and encouragement was invaluable. Her knowledge helped me remain calm and patient as I waited for my baby. Two weeks post-due date, my little girl arrived through a calm caesarean agreed through informed consent. I cannot thank Ellie enough for her support through this, she helped me use my hypnobirthing tools and feel positive and empowered about my first birth.”

- Sarah, Bristol

“Ellie made me feel at ease straight away. She gave me so many top tips about birthing, hypnobirthing and shared her own experience when relevant. Even after just one hour, I was left feeling relaxed and confident. I am feeling far more prepared than I thought I would.”
